SodaBadHow do you lose weight? Substitute diet drinks for sugary drinks.   We call it Sodi-Pop at my house.  Years ago when I noticed I was putting on weight, I went to diet drinks and never looked back.  I lost alot of weight initally, but then it came back with a vengence.  So did the diet sodi-pop really matter?  After doing some reading and realizing I was drinking about 3 to 6 cans a day,(sometimes more) I gave it all up.  Sure I might drink one every now and then if we go out to eat, but that is pretty rare for me now.

Diet Soda and Diet Drinks Make You Fat

With the idea of keeping a count our Calories as the simple foundation for Ty’s Diet, you’d think drinking diet soda would be a good thing, right?  The idea of zero calories is very appealing, but the issue with all soda comes down to the indredients.

There is a published 14-year study of 66,118 women that seems to show there is a real problem with diet drinks, that are in fact worse than your standard sugar loaded drinks.

  1. Diet sodas raised the risk of diabetes more than sugar-sweetened sodas!
  2. Women who drank one 12-ounce diet soda had a 33 percent increased risk of Type 2 diabetes, and women who drank one 20-ounce soda had a 66 percent increased risk.
  3. Women who drank diet sodas drank twice as much as those who drank sugar-sweetened sodas because artificial sweeteners are more addictive.
  4. The average diet soda drinker consumes three diet drinks a day.

Diet drinks make us fat, and are worse than sugared drinks! How does that happen?PopSideEffect

  • Artificial sweeteners are chemically charged and trick our brains to “tweak” out on the Sweet
  • The are genarlly ahundreds to thousands times sweeter than regular sugar
  • They trick your metabolism into thinking “real” sugar is on the way.
  • Next our body pumps out insulin in reaction to thinking it just got loaded on sugar, and this is results in more fat getting put to the belly.
  • Becauese it is not real sugare, our metoblism gets out of whack and slows down
  • Now with our brains and horomones out of whack reacting like they just had real sugar, we feel hungrier more often and start craving real sugary foods like breads, candy, and cakes.
  • Lab tests have shown this resulte in eating  more, and with the slower metabolism the fat builds on even in a low-cal diet….your body is just all out of whack from the Chems
  • Larger studies show can be a 200 percent increase for obesity in diet soda drinkers.

So, kick the Sodi-Pop to the curb, and get your self some water.  Read about the benefits of water here.
